This program will cover 8 topics where people supported will learn valuable skills that will set them up to thrive. With guest speakers, slideshows, games, and hands on learning activities people will be engaged while learning and having a good time.
Skills to Thrive is an 8-week program where participants will leave with skills and knowledge to thrive. The program will cover: Safety at Home and in the Community, Well-being, Mental Health, Money Management, Daily Living, Accessing the Community, Making a Meal, and Relationships. There are qualified members of the community who will come to speak about these topics including a registered dietitian, a Barrie Transit worker, and many more. Staff will dive deep into each topic in an engaging and meaningful way through slideshows, games, and hands on learning activities.
Cost: $400
Date(s)/Time(s): Monday mornings from 10am-12pm starting April 8th until June 3rd (program will not run on May 20th).
Location: Barrie – 40 Fraser Court
This course is designed to primarily serve adults with intellectual disabilities.
